LET'S HOPE he didn't make any mistakes. An American combat pilot did during World War II in the Pacific. Exhausted from battle, he gulped down a pint of gin one day before flying another mission. After he landed on the aircraft carrier some time later, he rushed toward the bridge, shouting to the captain, "I shot down three Japanese planes and sank a destroyer!"
