IT WAS EVENING when two elderly gents were chatting over a beer in the local tavern. One of them remarked, "I retired recently, and they gave me one of those automatic wristwatches that winds itself as you work. Now I have to keep busy, even on Sundays, so the damned thing won't stop running."
