Once Over Lightly
TWO GENTS got tanked at a late-night party, and one offered the other a ride home. After a while, the driver got sleepy asked his passenger to take the wheel. A while later, the passenger got sleepy, too, and asked the owner to take back the steering. This changing of seats took place several times more, and they seemed to be making no progress toward their destinations. Finally, they sobered up enough to realize that they lived on opposite sides of a large town, and each time one of them took the wheel, he reversed directions and headed for his own home.
