Once Over Lightly

ANOTHER PEDESTRIAN, in an anecdote from I. R. of Ontario, was a farmer who had lingered too long by the beer barrel at the county fair. Trudging homeward, he realized he was too tipsy to make it all the way, so he lay down in a neighbor's pasture and went to sleep. During the night, he woke up very cold. So he got up and shut the gate.
