The Success-Failure Syndrome

SOMETHING happened a couple of weeks ago that would have thrown me before I joined AA. I wrote an article about a Wyoming friend of mine who, with her husband, struggled through years of hardship and deprivation to build up a business that finally left them very well-to-do. I was sure I could sell the story to a Western magazine that had published me before; I thought readers would be impressed by the poverty of this couple, living on the land without any modern facilities, and the way they got a prosperous restaurant and bar and grocery store going.
