Calling Our Own Shots

EVER FOUND YOURSELF concentrating so hard on the actions of another person that you gave that person control over you? I have, but I did not know it until my "gurus" in the art of living pointed it out to me. Their teaching was simple. Whatever, or whomever, you give most of your attention to has effective control of your thinking, and the more you concentrate on that thing or person, the more you allow your thinking to be dominated. They went on to teach me that if I allowed my thinking to be so dominated, I was allowing my actions to be dominated also, since actions are generated by thinking. I was not able to grasp this idea fully until I thought of my teenage experiences in Doc's Poolroom.
