Sobriety With a Twist

ONCE AGAIN, I'M disappointed. Sobriety is not what I thought it would be. When I phoned Alcoholics Anonymous, a member of the Fellowship talked to me and told me where the meeting was the next night. I didn't get twelfth-stepped as I have since twelfth-stepped others. No one came to pick me up. I arrived, not sober, driven by me. I didn't even know that the Fellowship consisted of sober alcoholics and that sobriety meant no chemicals for mind or body. I thought I was going to the first meeting to learn how to drink without getting drunk.
