Thanks for the article by Jim Estelle in the July Grapevine. We needed that. I have been involved in AA meetings in jails and prisons for over ten years, and recently I had been thinking about reclaiming those Sunday afternoons for other things. I will keep going to jails and prisons because of that article. It gets lonely at times. The guys in prison ask me: "Are there a lot of meetings in Seattle?" I tell them (with some pride): "There are over 800 meetings per week in the Seattle area." And then they say: "How come only three of you ever show up for these meetings?" I don't know what to say.
