Why Can't They Change, Too?

Befor coming to Alcoholics Anonymous, I was going to a psychologist, hoping he could fix my life. He was telling me exactly what I wanted to hear, namely, I wasn't an alcoholic, in fact, that there was no such thing as an alcoholic. He assured me that I drank too much because I had emotional problems. If I could get my emotional life in order, I could drink the way I wished and not end up wanting to kill myself.
