Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery
HE WASN'T TAKING any chances, and neither was the captain of a sternwheeler steamboat that was stuck on a sandbar in the river. The skipper was trying every which way to break it loose. In the midst of the struggle, the ship's cook came on deck and dipped up a pail of water to boil potatoes for dinner. The captain saw him and shouted angrily, "Put that back!"
