AA is not a "couples" program--we all work it for ourselves

I HAD BEEN SOBER in AA for a little over twelve years when I married "one of us." Before I met this dream man, I felt that all alcoholics were weak emotionally, as was I, and I shouldn't socialize too much with the opposite sex--much less get seriously involved! My AA elders had also warned me about the "thirteenth step," saying it would get me drunk. I truly believed them; then I met my man--handsome, charming, outgoing, a good speaker, irresistible (you gals recognize the type).
