The Broken Poker Chip

I MET BILL (not his real name) about a year ago when I was visiting with other patients in a treatment center. He was a neat, attractive, well-mannered young man. I was old enough to be his mother, and he soon became "one of my boys." As we all know, age is no barrier in the Fellowship when we share the same addictions. We became acquainted over card games and numerous cups of coffee, but the night we got to know each other is best summed up by words I've often heard, "True love is your pain in my heart," and I felt pain that night!
