Sense and nonsense on the road to recovery

A BIT of misunderstanding, as in this account. The Washington Biological Survey put metal bands on wild birds to study their migration habits. The hands were stamped "Report to Wash. Biol. Surv." Some months later, they received a letter from a not-too-smart but very angry citizen. It read: "Sirs, I shot one of your pet crows. I washed it and boiledit and surved it, and it tasted terrible. Stop fooling people."
