Okay, GOD. . .

WHEN I FIRST came to AA, all I wanted was to quit drinking. I knew that my drinking was killing me and that AA could tell me how to quit. One day at a time, I learned how to not drink, but my problems seemed to be getting worse instead of better. That is, I got sober enough to want to live again, but I couldn't seem to remember how to live. Soon, I was healthier than ever before; my finances improved with the money not spent ruining myself at happy hour; my home life improved; but I just wasn't comfortable.
