Grateful--And Responsible

I attended an "alumni" meeting recently at the hospital where I was in treatment several years ago. It brought back painful memories, but also good ones. The greatest thing I got there was my introduction to the Alcoholics Anonymous program. It offered me a new beginning for a chemical-free life, a life of facing reality with a sober mind. AA taught me a way to leave behind my old hurting life that was full of fears, guilt, dishonesty, selfishness, and distorted thinking.
