An Outburst of Sanity
"Serious?" said my boss, wiping the top of his bald head with a handkerchief--a definite stress sign. "Yes, it's serious. He wants me to fire you." This isn't supposed to happen, I thought. I stopped drinking. I went to a treatment center for twenty-eight days. I've been to an AA meeting every night for five months--and my boss's boss wants me fired?
