FOR THE BIRDS: W. F. of Coupeville, Washington, wrote about the two lushes crying in their beer in a waterfront bar. One of them was deploring how badly the world was treating him, and finally worked himself into hysterics. He stood up and cried: "The world and everybody is against me! Nobody cares for me! I'm going down to the water and drown myself!"
