Heart's Desire

Several years passed after the decisive "last drink" before I came to grips with an important shortcoming of mine. It was related to resentments--the Big Book is on the mark, as usual, in calling resentment "the number one offender." Metaphorically speaking, I was frequently a simmering pot of irritability, crabbiness, and dissatisfaction, and every so often, triggered by some trivial event, I would boil over into angry outbursts and abusive behavior.
