When to pass the basket
My oh my, how AA meetings differ! I suppose there are just about as many different meeting formats as there are meetings! Most meetings open in more or less the same way, with the chairman introducing him or herself, then comes the reading of a prologue of some sort--one the group has devised or the one that is found inside the Grapevine cover (which is definitely my favorite), then the "moment of silence," followed by the Serenity Prayer, a portion of Chapter 5, etc. But when is the collection basket passed around?
