Getting sober has been for me a lifetime job. My father was an alcoholic but he never admitted it, which made him just a drunk and a very sick person. After he died, as he himself said, "without a friend in the world," my mother started her own addiction. Anyone who thinks alcoholism isn't a disease ought to take a look at the realities.
