The Sign of a New Beginning

Everyone who attended that meeting at the 79th Street Workshop in New York City came away with the feeling that they had been witness to a great, historical event in the annals of AA, For most of those present, it was the first time they had ever "heard" a qualification given in sign language. "Pedro," an articulate man in his own language, gave a moving and inspiring presentation of his alcoholic life and recent recovery in the program with the aid of his interpreter, "Roanie," herself a member of AA.
