Cunning, Baffling, and Spiritual

My first sponsor, who at the time had over twenty-five years of sobriety, stated to me one evening his favorite definition of spirituality. It is, he said, "a higher plane of thinking." Through the years I've thought often of his statement; and I've thought also: just where and when did I take that first major step to a higher plane?
