Getting the Green Light

In my early days of sobriety, I dragged myself to meetings mumbling and grumbling about what fate had dealt me. I was only twenty-five years old--old by today's standards, but young then--and I had to give-up the "good life" for what appeared to be an endless stretch in AA. Looking back, I can see how I viewed just about everything that came my way in the same negative manner. The "black cloud" that hovered over me had been a constant companion for many years, long before I took my first drink.
