I joined AA on January 4, 1986. I spent about three weeks in Evanston Substance Abuse Center, Evanston, Ill. From January 1986 to August 1986 I attended many AA meetings. The changes that happened to me during this time were great. I have to thank a lot of people who cared enough to show their love and support. During these months I wasn't a big reader of the Big Book or the Grapevine, but a steady meeting-goer.
