Sticking to it

It is in gratitude to those who went before me that I try to adhere to our Traditions. They protect AA from egocentric people like me. In this respect I began to learn of spiritual anonymity. This teaches me that "Our common welfare should come first." If I deviate too far from our Traditions, I will surely sicken and die. In Tradition Three I am shown by personal example what was done and what my attitude should be toward problems other than alcohol. A man with another addiction became a member; he was so grateful for his freedom that he tirelessly carried AA's message. "Never did he trouble anyone with this other difficulty." Am I grateful enough to AA to follow his lead?
