PO Box 1980
After reading the articles on the subject of special interest meetings or groups, my feelings were mixed between anger and frustration that the Traditions were not discussed by these writers. It is obvious that the "I and me" generation has implanted itself deeply in AA. But does not our first Tradition remind us that our common welfare should come first? The long form reminds us that individual recovery follows, not precedes. This means that I have to give up my desires for the good of the whole. Are the homosexuals, women, and young people in special interest groups willing to put group recovery ahead of individual desires?
