Landing in Hot Water

When I was young, the kids in our neighborhood would come over and play ping pong in a room above our garage. Of course somebody would always hit the ball too hard and make a dent in it, and if we tried to play with the dented ball, it would bounce off in all directions and we'd have to stop.
