Ham on Wry
FROM OLD LYME, CONN., G. G. sent the following anecdote: The owner of a local tavern was used to turning away patrons who were already three sheets to the wind when they arrived. One day, a tipsy fellow tried to gain admittance at the front door, only to be told by the owner that he couldn't come in. The drunk left, and then tried to get in a side door of the same bar.
