More Precious Than Life

Sometimes, when I least expect it, I wonder how it would be to go out there again. I find myself looking into one of the many new bars that have sprung up in my neighborhood, watching the young and attractive new generation of drinkers having a wonderful time. What does a wine cooler taste like, anyway? It has been so long since I had a drink or a drug that maybe, just maybe, it would be different. Maybe the old body after seven or so years hasn't got an alcoholic cell left in it. Haven't I learned to be responsible and moderate in most areas of my life? God knows I have learned the pitfalls of unrestrained boozing. I am an expert on how bad drinking can get, so who is better qualified to do it right? Right. . .?
