Last night I was at a meeting where the topic of anonymity came up. A young man in the group had chosen to break his anonymity during an interview with an Armed Forces recruiter. He admitted that he was a recovering alcoholic and was then hit with a barrage of questions to determine whether or not he was truly addicted to alcohol and drugs. Further discussion gave him the knowledge that if a potential recruit checks "yes" on the question of addictions, it will be followed by lengthy personal background checks and possible rejection on this basis alone.
