"Are We Scaring Newcomers Away?" not only shocked but "scared" this alcoholic--to think that the Lord's Prayer could possibly be deleted from our Fellowship. This is the prayer I have prayed along with my fellow alcoholics for twenty-one years and has given me strength, hope, and faith to stay sober with no slips. In my opinion this prayer shows honor and glory to God, who is an integral part of seven out of twelve of our wonderful Steps. If this seems to "scare" newcomers away, perhaps they are not ready to accept the fact that there is a Power greater than themselves (a higher power) who can and will help them if he is sought.
