Ham on Wry
GROUPS NEW AND OLD have business meetings, and in the February 1945 issue we found this little squib: "The New York clubhouse, 405 W. 41st St., was the scene of a rousing business meeting in January. . . A couple of lawyers, leaving the meeting, shrugged their shoulders eloquently. One looked at the other. 'Astonishing,' he said to his colleague and fellow AA. The second lawyer, his eyes questioning, replied, 'You said it, brother!' Could their cryptic words refer to the wonderful facility with which AAs outflank the knotty legal technicalities that drive non-AA barristers to drink?"
