Hiding Behind the Badge

As I sit in my various AA meetings today, I so often have the opportunity to watch and listen to newcomers who have sentenced to the program through the courts. Most are resentful and angry at either the arresting officer, the courts, the system itself, or any combination thereof. The fortunate ones stay around (and listen) long enough to realize that they have in fact been sentenced to a life of happiness.
