Ham on Wry

IF YOU WONDERED why back issues of the Silver Dollar were mentioned in the first sentence of this section, it's because the cupboard is increasingly bare and we have very little new material coming in for Ham on Wry. Luckily, the file yielded a pretty good supply of one-liners received over the past few months. Some brief sayings from Paul G. of Mill Valley, Calif., made us ponder on the aging process, in and out of AA. For example, he reminded us that "Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional," and balanced that with: "Don't resist growing old. Many are denied that privilege." And here's one that's not necessarily related to age, but we liked it anyway: "One thing every new AA member must learn is how to become an old AA member."
