The same treatment

I am writing in reference to the lack of gay material in your magazine. I'm sober almost ten years in AA. I came out as a lesbian when I had six years of sobriety. I have seen lots of gay people rejected in AA. Most people just want us to go to meetings but not talk about our lives. Well, I suggest you try going to meetings but don't talk about your life.

I think the Grapevine would be a great way to educate people in the fact that we are not strange and different, but just alcoholics trying to stay sober. We deserve the same treatment other drunks deserve. I'm just so tired of hearing people being asked to leave a meeting. Thank God for gay meetings or I would have lost this wonderful gift of sobriety.
