THE FOLLOWING JOKE has taken several "geographics." It originally was on a reel to reel tape made by Alan B. in the early '60s and sent from a group in Seattle to Ben L. who was then newly sober and living in India. Recently, Ben, who now lives in Sweden, rediscovered this hoard of old tapes he had forgotten about and sent us a transcription of this 25 year old joke: "I used to use booze to steady my nerves. No matter what the situation, booze would always steady me. Sometimes I would get so steady I couldn't move at all!"
