Around AA
The strains of "Cielito Lindo" filled the meeting rooms and corridors of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. What was the occasion? Not a jamboree or a song fest; it was the Tenth World Service Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous, where delegates from Spanish-speaking countries brought their own brand of joy in sobriety to five days of sharing from October 23-27, 1988. And if it wasn't songs in Spanish it was the joys and the challenges of carrying out AA's worldwide responsibilities, voiced in Finnish or French, Polish or Portuguese, English or Icelandic.
