History 101 a Lesson In Humility

Two years ago, I knew, without any dramatics, that I wanted to stop drinking more than anything in the world. I also knew that it was impossible for me to do so without help. I didn't know if I qualified as an alcoholic, but that did not seem to make any difference. In short, I came to AA, on my own, scared to death but stubborn. I knew that I had this one chance to recover and felt if I did not make this work the first time, I wouldn't make it at all. Maybe that was illogical thinking, but I found a sponsor with that same concept regarding a second chance and now have celebrated two years of very productive sobriety.
