Give the Old-timer a Chance

Sponsorship--what a topic to grasp. It encompasses so many vital lessons in our program. But do we use this tool to our maximum benefit? This letter is sent to the young people of Alcoholics Anonymous. Because I am a young person myself, I would like to describe my story on sponsorship in the light of sharing my experience, strength, and hope. My name is Brian, I am an alcoholic at nineteen years of age. By the grace of God, the Fellowship of AA, and a sponsor, I haven't found it necessary to take a drink since September 28, 1985.
