AA around the world

When I was brought to my home group (the "Message of Hope Group") in December of 1985, it met once a week and there were only about nine members. The meetings were quite informal. Whoever came first would start the meeting with the Serenity Prayer, followed by "How It Works," the Preamble, and the Twelve Traditions, all in any one of the three widely used languages (Hindi, Marathi, or English), depending on his or her own proficiency. After sharing by group members, the meetings would close with the Serenity Prayer again, after a brief session of questions, answers, and announcements. Today our group meets three times a week and the average attendance is thirty and above.
