It is the first AA convention I ever went to, and my awareness of AA was expanded, and my love for and faith in the Fellowship deepened. There was a hospitality suite for gay and lesbian AAs, nonsmoking sections, vegetarian food and herb tea by the coffee. All of this warmed my heart because it made me realize how alive and how responsive the Fellowship is to its diverse members. It is alive because it is us.
