Why wait?

In response to B. L. (February 1989), "Serious dependency": I went to a treatment center to "dry out" and learn how to live with alcohol. Instead I was twelfth-stepped by AAs who came into the center and shared their experience, strength, and hope with me. I decided that I was an alcoholic at the age of fifty-three, because people cared enough to come into a treatment center and share their life.
