Then and Now

This morning I am grateful for my sobriety. As a matter of fact, there has never been a morning since my last drunk that I have not been grateful for my sobriety, I am grateful that the God of my understanding, that I found after coming Into AA, has allowed me to see another day. I am grateful to the program of AA and the Fellowship of AA. There will always be, in my mind, a difference between the program and the Fellowship. The Fellowship did not keep me sober, but the program has. The Fellowship kept me sober until my mind cleared up enough that I could begin to understand just a little of what you were telling me when I came back after several attempts to prove that I could drink like a lady. I never tried the program before my last drunk. I stayed dry only on the Fellowship.
