Well worth it
At a meeting a few months ago, I heard of a tradition of sending one dollar for each year of sobriety to the General Service Office on one's AA birthday. Today I have lived one year without a drink for the first time in my adult life, with the help of the program and fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous and God as I understand Him.
