The Enemy I Never Knew

I have been in AA for two-and-a-half years. To say my life has changed would be an understatement of the first magnitude. Twenty-one years ago, at age twenty-one, I stood in front of a judge in Georgia, and heard him sentence me to forty-five years at hard labor, for the crime of aggravated robbery. In an alcohol-induced frenzy, I had seriously injured a man while robbing him.
