Rejoining the Human Race

Some time ago in the Grapevine I read your call for articles by and about Native Americans. Would an article from a "mongrel pup" be as useful as that of a reservation full-blood? I definitely qualify as an alcoholic, and while I was given an extensive education, I nonetheless became a classic low-bottom--a shame to myself and my relatives. I am Metis or mixed-blood of French and Abenaqui ancestry, mainly Penobscot. My father's last name is Armenian but he was a state kid and raised by French Canadians. So, while I'm a "Heinz 57" instead of a full-blood Indian I have known no other life than that of a "breed."
