Passing It On

My introduction to AA was in May 1971. I listened to a man who could neither read nor write, yet he had a message for me. For the first time in my life I heard someone talk about how I felt and thought. He told me that first night that I need never take another drink. He told me to go to as many meetings as possible. He then started to sponsor me into service by taking me to intergroup meetings. It helped me to develop a love of service.
