A Red Letter Day

It was to be a special day for the King Street AA in Spanish Town. Derrick, our first new member, was due to receive his three-month medallion, and our second new member, Ramon, was here for his first meeting. It had been a long haul, We thought. For almost four months, we had made the weekly trip from Kingston to Spanish Town, apparently for no good purpose. We wanted to start a new group there, but why travel all that way just to talk to ourselves? It seemed that, after all, we were only "carrying the message" to those who had it already. But today, at last, it began to seem worthwhile. This is how we arrived at that red letter day.
