No less wondrous

When I began in AA sixteen years ago, and as far as I know from AA's beginnings, we did not hold hands to say the Lord's Prayer at the end of meetings; even the prayer was "for those who care to join us." When this practice began, I was standing next to a woman who, while she gripped my hand tightly in her own, noted what a spoil-sport the man next to her was, as he declined to hold her hand on the grounds that he didn't believe in doing so. I, too, thought the "old sourpuss" was just being obtuse. However, I have changed my mind.
