Flexibility desired

"If you want to get sober, you get yourself to 90 meetings in 90 days. Otherwise. . ." And the threat was left unspoken but it was clearly there. That's what I heard when I first found Alcoholics Anonymous. And, believing it was absolutely essential to my recovery, I shuddered. I knew there was no way, no way at all, this drunk could ever sit through 90 meetings in 90 days. I knew others had done it but I couldn't (and never did), and I seized upon it as further proof of my own weakness and picked up a drink.
